Joe Purvis
January 15, 1869 - March 14, 1930
Dennis Purvis and Francis Brockmon, born in Kentucky, were
the parents of Joe Purvis who was born in Tarrant County.
Joe Purvis married Ida Hutson in Lee County, TX on October
19, 1898 and was married again to Amanda Foster on July
20, 1912 in Cooke County, TX.

1920 Census Records indicate Joe Purvis, 60, was living in
Fort Worth, Ward 7, with his wife Amanda, 37, and her
mother, Mary Ford, 70.

A Death Certificate cites that he died on March 14, 1930, that
he was an Ice Man, and that he was married to Amanda
Purvis.  The Death Certificate states that he was buried in
Handley Cemetery, however, his headstone is at the
Arlington Colored Cemetery.
